Work for Waratah

Waratah Medical Services are always on the look out for great doctors to join their team. The Lake Macquarie region is constantly growing.

We currently have one GP Registrar and eleven General Practitioners working at the practice, along with an extensive range of other medical services and allied health professionals.

We work closely together to provide patients with a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to their health needs.

We offer a family-friendly work environment and are happy to assist with relocation.

Listen to one of our long standing GPs, Dr Casper Badenhorst explain what it is like working at Waratah.

We love having GP Registrars

Waratah Medical Services accepts Registrars at our Morisset and Cooranbong training practices.

Waratah Medical Services are accredited through RACGP to accept Registrars. We advertise positions for each Registrars Term on the TMS Portal. We currently have four accredited Registrars Supervisors between the two practices. We accept Term 1, Term 2, Term 3, Extended Skills and Registrars awaiting Fellowship.

We have a dedicated training room located on level 6 at our Morisset practice. As well as Registrars face-to-face training with their supervisor they also have the opportunity to participate in monthly clinical meetings, onsite visiting specialist’s presentations, the opportunity to oversee the operations of our allied health providers, training with our Registered nurses in chronic disease management, training with our Practice team on Medicare billing and day-to-day operations of a medical practice, skin cancer training sessions and any other areas of their interests.

For extended skills posts we offer an opportunity to extend your skills in skin cancer and minor procedures. We have four general practitioners offering skin cancer checks in our skin cancer clinics. We have a modern, new procedure room where minor procedures are performed.

We have a dedicated team of general practitioners, nursing staff, receptionists and management. We offer all our team a very family friendly environment to work in.

For more information on our Registrars program please do not hesitate to add a contact form or find our details on the contact us page

Waratah is exactly what I was looking for in a training practice. A place for me to try out new skills and given the support and freedom to find my interests in General Practice
