Looking for a simple, reliable, and low-maintenance form of contraception? At Waratah Medical Services, we’re pleased to announce that IUD (Intrauterine Device) and Implanon contraceptive insertions and removals are now bulk billed for our patients.
Why Choose Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)?

Long-acting reversible contraceptives are some of the most effective options available. They work continuously without you having to remember a daily pill, and can be easily removed if you decide to try for pregnancy or change methods.
IUDs (Intrauterine Devices): These are small, T-shaped devices inserted into the uterus.
Hormonal IUDs (e.g., Mirena® or Kyleena®) release a low dose of hormone that can reduce or even stop periods over time.
Copper IUDs are hormone-free and provide protection for up to 10 years.
Implanons: A small, flexible rod placed under the skin of your upper arm that slowly releases a hormone to prevent pregnancy. It lasts for up to 3 years and can be removed at any time.
The Benefits
✅ Highly effective and long-lasting
✅ Safe and reversible
✅ No need to remember daily contraception
✅ Can help with heavy or painful periods (hormonal options)
What to Expect
You’ll start with a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss which option is best for you. The insertion and removal procedures are quick, safe, and performed here in our clinic.
